Launching the Simaisma Project and Land of Legends in Qatar
On November 21, 2024, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, officially launched the Simaisma Project, a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Municipality and developed by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company.

Spanning over 8 million square meters, this project is set to transform Qatar’s eastern coastline with a stunning 7 km waterfront.
Vision for the Future
At the launch, HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Minister of Municipality, highlighted the critical role of public-private partnerships in achieving Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
He stated that the project aims to foster economic, social, and environmental growth, while enhancing the tourism and entertainment sector to meet rising demands.

The Simaisma Project opens numerous investment opportunities in the private sector, offering over 16 plots for development. Planned features include:
- Luxury resorts across four distinct areas
- A theme park
- A world-class 18-hole golf course
- Residential villas
- A yacht club and marina

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the Simaisma Project, with plans for smart systems and the use of locally recycled materials in construction and operation.

This initiative is expected to boost non-oil sector contributions to Qatar’s economy and attract foreign direct investment, aligning with the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030.
Introducing Land of Legends Qatar
The groundbreaking ceremony also marked the launch of Land of Legends Qatar, the first major entertainment destination within the Simaisma Project.
This collaboration between FTG Development and Qatari Diar aims to attract 2 million visitors annually, significantly advancing Qatar’s tourism landscape. With a projected investment of $3 billion, the project will cover 650,000 square meters and is scheduled to open by 2028.

Land of Legends Qatar will feature seven themed zones with unique attractions, offering immersive experiences for visitors of all ages. Highlights include:
- Kingdom Hotel with conference facilities and beachside activities
- Music Hotel, celebrating global music cultures
- An 80-meter-high mountain and scenic boat parades

Eng. Ali Mohamed Al-Ali, CEO of Qatari Diar, echoed this sentiment, detailing a vision that integrates entertainment, sustainability, and economic growth, while Mr. Fettah Tamince, Founder of FTG Development, described it as a vibrant addition to Qatar’s attractions.
