Qatar 2022 mandatory Hayya Card goes digital
Doha: The mandatory Hayya Card for international and local fans during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has been digitalised and it will serve as the gateway permit, said officials at Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), yesterday.

Al Kuwari said that, after purchasing World Cup tickets, fans should apply for a Hayya Card. Citizens and residents need their ticket number, Qatar Id number and date of birth details to apply for Hayya card, while visitors need ticket number, accommodation details and personal information.
Once approved, the digital version of the fan id will be available in the Hayya mobile app.
“Hayya Digital Card is also available in the physical form for fans and that can be collected from our collection points but the digital one is sufficient,” said Al Kuwari, during a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel.
“Fans from all over the world, including GCC nationals, will not be allowed to enter Qatar without a Hayya Card during the tournament. It will be mandatory for everyone except for citizens and residents of Qatar from beginning to the end tournament to enter the country,” he added.
According to Al Kuwari, a Hayya Match Day Pass will be introduced soon and it will be an entry permit valid for 48 hours from the designated arrival date. For the Match Day Pass, spectators need a valid FIFA Match ticket and a valid passport.
“The fan has to submit a request on Hayya, by selecting accommodation, match date and time and we approve it based on it. We approve it for 48 hours to stay in the country,” he said.
Emphasizing about the accommodation options for the fans during World Cup 2022, Omar Al Jaber, Executive Director of Accommodation, SC said that there are many options available on the website for visitors, including villas, apartments, holiday homes, fan villages and floating hotels.
“All the villas and apartments will have four- and five-star services which will include housekeeping, reception, luggage handling and all such services. The floating hotels will include two cruise ships in Doha Port with 4000 rooms available for fans.
The fan villages at more than one site will be provided by private sectors and have full services for guests who book it,” he said.
“We have already received a lot of bookings and still we have accommodations available on our website,” said Al Jaber, encouraging fans to book their accommodation early as possible.
Al Jaber also said that each person residing in Qatar can receive 10 people who are relatives and friends by registering their data on the official residence platform, while the guest must enter the host’s information while obtaining the Hayya Card.
